A global leader in the manufacturing of wear-resistant Cobalt, Nickel, and Iron based alloy coatings and components have recently taken delivery of their new Wilmat ‘Bulldog’ Pedestrian Operated Counterbalanced Stacking Truck.
The truck is used for the movement and setting up of sand mould trays ready for casting operation. Also used in the processing of the sand moulds and general lifting and moving of items in the department.
Ian Carty, Castings Manager at Weartech said ‘From a H&S point of view we can now use the truck whereas before we were having to use a forklift truck for the same job in a confined spaces. The Wilmat ‘Bulldog’ allows us more flexibility while working in the area. The truck is a dedicated piece of equipment for the castings department which means we no longer have to wait around for forklift truck availability which is having a positive impact on production times and schedules. In the same vein the castings department does not have to commandeer the forklift truck for long lengths of time which was having a negative impact in other departments. Operators who do not want to use a larger forklift truck are happy to use this piece of equipment.’
