Bowmer Bond are a tape and webbing weaving company with a 220 year history and both their products and practices have had to move with the times.
The advent of man-made fibres led to their products getting heavier and the warps (large reels of yarn) became too heavy to lift by hand.
Richard Taylor, Bowmer Bond’s Technical Manager said:
“In 1987 Wilmat made a small footprint warp handling machine for us. It is a testament to its quality and durability that recently we asked Wilmat to copy it and make another, not to replace it but to work alongside the older machine as we have grown.
The current team at Wilmat produced a machine for us that had all the good features of the old one and even improved its specification so it is even better than the old one!”
We designed and manufactured a Reel Handler based on our popular ‘Diamond’ range of hand pushed stackers. The unit has battery lift and bespoke lifting arms and short legs for access.
We were delighted to work with Bowmer Bond again and we look forward to continuing our longstanding relationship with them.
Another example of the quality and longevity of Wilmat equipment!
