Horstman Defence Systems Limited based in Bath, is a leading design and manufacturing company with a time tested pedigree in design, development, complex machining, assembly, test and project management of defence products.
They have recently taken delivery of a new Wilmat Hand Pushed Battery Lift Cylinder Handling Truck which was designed and manufactured to suit their specific application.
The truck is used for removing a military suspension unit from a functional test rig and rotating it 180 degrees and placing it on a transport trolley so it can then be lifted in that orientation for the painting operation.
Daniel Reeve, Process Development Engineer at Horstman Defence said βThe main benefit is for health and safety, due to the fact the suspension units weigh around 50KG, manual handling of the units to rotate them sees a high risk to the operators.
We own a few Wilmat lifting trucks.Β This is the first specially built unit we have purchased and the first time we have dealt with Wilmat directly.
